Commissariat à l‘Energie Atomique
The CEA, Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique Et Aux Energies Alternatives is a government-funded research organization active in the fields of energy, health and information technologies, and defense. Within CEA, the major technological resources can be found in Grenoble where CEA-LETI and CEA-LITEN are located.
CEA-LETI, Laboratoire d‘Electronique et de Technologie de l‘Information (Laboratory of electronics and information technology) is at the cutting edge of European research into microelectronics, micro- and nanotechnology. It employs more than 1,000 people. CEA-LITEN, Laboratoire d’Innovations pour les Technologies des Energies nouvelles et les Nanomatériaux (Laboratory of Innovation for New Energy Technologies and Nanomaterials) is developing new technologies for energy, focusing on photovoltaics, hydrogen fuel cells and nanomaterials addressing building, transport and mobile electronics as main markets. It employs 400 people.
