Successful signature of extended cooperation: VTT now member of HTA

On March 26, 2008, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Heterogeneous Technology Alliance (HTA) and VTT, the major research organization from Finland. This strategic development is designed to further enrich the scope and potential of the organization by adding VTT’s technological leadership in key areas and their excellent industrial network, and also provides the organization with an ideal base in Scandinavia.

“We are very happy to join HTA, because VTT sees HTA as a crucial player to increasing the global competitiveness and enhancing innovation activities in the area of micro- and nanotechnologies. HTA is not only a network of organizations, but rather it is restructuring the way research is being carried out in Europe. For these reasons, VTT is very motivated to be an active contributor in this alliance”, says Professor Erkki KM Leppävuori, President and CEO of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
